We hope you had some time to charge your batteries and come up with some good business ideas, because we’re back in business and we’ve just opened the registrations for the Startup Programme Spring’17 batch!

Last year we learned a lot about what student startups need most and we talked to many teams in need of support. Together with brand new partners we have discussed the importance of applying entrepreneurial learning in the real world and the need for collaboration between industry & academia to support technology transfer. The development and continuous support for such business collaborations is a key success factor, one that all stakeholders are advocating for, which is a good sign that things are moving in the right direction.

Lessons Learned

We have gotten wiser both in terms of processes and resources, which allows us to iterate our own practices in a pure value-driven mindset. The feedback of the autumn batch has been a valuable insight and the advice from ITU’s executive management is enabling us to continuously tweak and improve this student incubator.

  • This year we have set a deadline for receiving applications, to motivate aspiring students to join and make time for the workshops/meetings.
  • Workshops will run every couple of weeks and in between we have optional in-house work sessions to get the teams working on their solutions. (see calendar below and make sure you clear your schedule)
  • We want to create a social setting for the participating startups to pitch for new team members or just present their idea and practice their pitch

Clear your Wednesday!

Starting a company is not an easy job. It requires passion, dedication and most of all execution. You are taking a bet on yourself and we are here to help you succeed! We know you still need to prioritise your studies or a potential job to pay the bills, but we also expect teams to set aside a day per week where they are focusing on their company and their solution.

Workshops

Learn from experts by applying knowledge on your specific business case. We will meet up twice a month and focus on a particular component of your business. From figuring out how to solve problems, to figuring out your next funding opportunity.

Work Session

We are hosting open-office hours where you can join in with your team and get cracking! We’re entrepreneurs ourselves, so we can sit and work together – exchange tips or share insights. Pizza & Drinks on us!

We are very hands-on!

When we say we will help we really mean it! All accepted teams are assigned a personal business developer, from ITU Business Development, who will  follow them through the entire programme. Teams meet with their business developer twice a month who will provide them with tools and resources to advance their business depending on their level of skills, competences and needs. In addition to business consultancy services, we are providing participating teams with mentorship from both ITU experts and also relevant industry matchmaking.

If you are determined to succeed, we’re prepared to make it happen!
