Why student entrepreneurship?
We help student startups develop products & services that create value for people & society.
The Startup Programme is a student startup incubator at the IT University of Copenhagen. The incubator is managed by ITU Business Development A/S, an private limited company owned entirely by the IT University of Copenhagen. Bringing the entrepreneurial community together with more focus & university support has enabled us to launch this programme for students.
The Mission of the Startup Programme is to provide guidance and knowledge to students which leads to teams creating new technology startups with innovative concepts. We are a launchpad for students into the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping teams prepare for the next stages of startup growth.

Kristine Helen Falgren
CEO of ITU Business Development
Kristine comes from a position at Reykjavik University where she worked with the development of technology transfer activities and university-industry collaboration. She has studied art, political science and psychology and holds an MBA. Besides the experience with commercialisation opportunities from academic research, she has a special interest in how to attract and support more women to the STEM subjects and in female entrepreneurship.
Søren comes from a previous position as a Legal Consultant at the ITU, but has switched to ITU Business Development to work more directly with commercialization of inventions and advising student startups. Coming from the entertainment and media industry he has great experience within these areas, but can help with all types of legal matters. Søren also worked with a good couple of start-ups so in the early phases of building a company he can be a huge help.
The Startup Programme was instrumental in getting our company from an idea to an early business: very useful legal counsel, capital injections and overall advice. ITU-BD is a great advantage for students’ startups as it brings experience which is critical to creating a profitable company.
— Samy Tessier
CEO and Founder at Clockwork Trading ApS
ITU Business Development's Startup Programme was vital in the very early stages of our startup journey. They helped consider important elements in relation to our business model and gave us tools to guide us through bumps and challenges along the way. In the later stages, they made our further development possible by investing 25.000 DKK in the company. Being part of the shared office facilities provided by ITU BD enabled a valuable network of other entrepreneurs.
